Halloween is probably my favorite secular holiday. As a recovering Goth-a-holic (or a Corporate Goth if you will), I love the opportunity to bust out the “bat purse,” buy a new pair of wings, and string up George the spider in my office so that when the lab door opens he floats up and down. I also stock up on black roses. I love this holiday, but this year I became very depressed when I tried to buy a Halloween costume.
Okay folks here is the deal. I’m not a small girl. I’m short, but I’m not exactly skinny. However, I have been losing some weight and I decided to bite the bullet and buy one of those cute costumes at the Halloween Store. I was blonde at the time (i’ve since changed) and I really had my little heart set on being Alice in Wonderland. I stopped by the costume shop on my way home from work, and after a little looking I found three costume options. The first was the “skank” Alice. It was like a bikini top and a little skirt. Uh yeah…so aside from being jealous that I would never be able to pull that off, really that just isn’t my look. The other two seemed more reasonable.
