Leslie Scribner: The Toy Man

If you are a resident of Southlake or Grapevine, chances are that you have seen this man walking down the street or in a local store with his toy truck following not too far behind.

Many who saw him wondered who he was and why he dragged a toy truck with him everywhere he went. If you took the time to know him, you would have found that Leslie Scribner was a wonderful man with a heart of gold.

This is one of those stories you expect to hear on Kidd Kraddick in the Morning – real life local stories that move our hearts and spur us to do something on behalf of our community.

What Ever Happened to Taylor from Kidd Kraddick in the Morning?

taylor-gloverA while back, I wrote an article about Taylor Glover leaving the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning radio show. The syndicated show is available over a majority of the U.S., and online at KiddLive.com.

Taylor was the youngest, freshest, and yes, occasionally most irritating part of the KKITM morning show. Taylor announced on the air that she saw an opportunity to act in Hollywood, so she dropped the show and took off. I have my doubts that she’ll make it, personally. She has a personality for radio, which doesn’t necessarily equate to acting ability.

What’s Freddy Up To Now?

Help FreddyYou know that Freddy drove from Pennsylvania to Dallas for the Freddy Needs Gas Tour. You know that Kidd Kraddick is helping Freddy try something new: user-generated music. Well, fan-influenced, anyway.

But you may not catch Kidd Kraddick in the Morning every time they give a Freddy update, and you're looking for something new. What's he doing now? Is he recording new music yet? Where do I go to help Freddy record his album? Where do I vote on the lyrics, album art, and chords? (more…)

Do You Want to Help Freddy Record His Album?

Freddy and the Gas Money TourIf you've been listening to Kidd Kraddick in the Morning for the past week and a half, you know about Freddy. Well, the Freddy Needs Gas Tour is over, and as I predicted, Freddy was seriously let down. Honestly, you don't make a big deal nationally about a talented musician and follow him from Pennsylvania to Texas just to have him talk and sing live in-studio for one hour without some sort of greater payoff. The Freddy Needs Gas Tour was interesting, entertaining, but not rewarding.

So, Freddy and Kidd talk. Whether it was Freddy's idea or Kidd's, doesn't matter. Regardless, Freddy posed the idea to Kidd on the air Monday morning of recording his album here in DFW and letting the KKITM fans vote on each song, the album art, etc. In other words, Freddy wants to be the UGC (user generated content) of the music industry. Another video or two on the way.

Freddy Needs Gas Tour Ends Tomorrow

The whirlwind tour ends tomorrow with a live concert on the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning radio show. The concert should start around 7:30am in Las Colinas on the canal or next door to the studio at Texas Bar & Grill. Here's a quick video excerpt of Freddy's road trip from Philly to Dallas.
